When we or our families are unwell, we naturally want the very best in care and outcomes. So you can feel at peace about your choice of surgeon, I would like to tell you more about myself.
I am a graduate of Otago Medical School (MBChB), Dunedin. Having completed my surgical training in New Zealand, I am a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). I am also a member of Breast Surgeons of Australia & New Zealand and a member of the New Zealand Association of General Surgeons.
My sub-specialty training in oncoplastic breast surgery allows me to provide a greater range of surgical options for women with breast cancer.
At Middlemore and Auckland City Hospitals, I am involved in the assessment and treatment of breast & skin disease, acute/emergency general surgical conditions and imparting surgical training/education.
I am passionate about surgical education and research. Over the course of my career, I have received awards for research (Nates Myers Prize) and general surgery (John McCall Prize). To complement my expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery I am completing a Masters degree in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from the University of Sydney, Australia.
Outside of work, our 3 children keep me active. I enjoy dancing at a professional level and through stage performances have and continue to raise funds for Australia & New Zealand based charitable causes. I also enjoy cooking, travelling and hiking.
